Leigh Sullivan, Founder
Founder Leigh Sullivan began her career in the hospitality industry in her teens while posted behind the hostess stand of a Black-Eyed Pea restaurant. Since then, her zeal for restaurants and the hospitality sector has become a full-fledged passion. The enterprising mother of three has co-owned multiple concepts in Denver, including TAG, an award-winning restaurant that cemented Leigh’s place among Denver’s most successful restaurateurs. She never looked back.
In 2007, Leigh launched Leigh Sullivan Enterprises, a Denver-based boutique marketing and PR consulting firm. With a focus on quality clients, efficiency, exceeding expectations and creative branding, Leigh achieved major success marketing and promoting numerous Denver restaurants. She also conceived and developed FIVE™, a joint venture between her company and Colorado’s most influential chefs, all of whom showcase the state’s burgeoning culinary scene through collaborative dinners, charity events and high-profile appearances—including the James Beard House and Food & Wine Classic in Aspen.
Adventurous, unflappable and kind of hilarious, Leigh is also a huge proponent of philanthropy and community involvement, she firmly supports GLBT Community Center of Colorado, and she’s been heavily involved in Chefs Up Front, a nationwide initiative of Share Our Strength, which fights to end childhood hunger. In her free time, you can find her hanging out with her kids, husband, and dogs watching bizarre docuseries and getting tattoos.
Travis Plakke, Co-founder
Travis used to be an international hair model. Seriously, Google him. But hot hair can only get you so far in life, and for Travis, it wasn’t gracing the cover of a glossy magazine that motivated him: It was the adrenaline rush of working in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
A self-described master problem-solver, Travis, a Michigan native, is also a technology freak. He’s the laser-focused guy who‘s uniquely talented at conceptualizing—and implementing—cutting-edge technologies that drive sales and address challenges. With 3 decades of experience in casual dining, high-end concept restaurants, stadiums, steakhouses and hotels, Travis is an expert in operations, staff training and development, sales and profit planning, product launches and rollouts, beverage program creation, purchasing and organizational and managerial methods.
When Travis isn’t brainstorming his next big idea, he’s cooking blueberry pancakes on Saturday mornings for his wife and kids, paddle boating or on the prowl for his next pair of weird Star Wars socks. He’s also an avid supporter of Chefs Up Front and the GLBT Community Center of Colorado, where he volunteers his time.
